Overview
This is an opportunity to join a fast growing new division within
the Catalog Group, concentrating on the development and marketing
of TV driven compilations and single artist albums. Based at the London-Sire
offices in New York, the TV division is involved in releasing or working
on the following types of records:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
RECORD PROJECTS:
- Various
artist catalog compilations (released through Birdhouse Records).
- Various
artist frontline compilations (released through Birdhouse Records)
- Various
artist DJ mixed albums (released through Birdhouse Records)
- Single artist
best-of�s (released through Catalog Group)
OTHER
DUTIES:
- Manage all
aspects of releases that come through Catalog Group/Birdhouse Records:
* licensing liaison
* creative development/liaison.
* Production liaison
* Marketing liaison
* Sales liaison
- Planning
and execution of TV marketing strategies.
- Liaison
with Catalog Group/Birdhouse Records A&R re. development of
projects.
- Co-ordination
of on-going research of projects pre and post release.
- Sales support
- liaison with Catalog sales group at WEA.
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years product management or marketing
experience; Preference to candidates with BA Degree in Marketing or
related degree with broad musical tastes; Must be able to implement
marketing campaigns as well as high level negotiations for cross promotions;
Must be able to network, build rapport across departments and follow
through in order to complete a variety of tasks; Some financial analytical
skills necessary; Creative thinker with a proven marketing track record;
Excellent oral and written communications skills; Able to prioritize
and accomplish a variety of daily/weekly tasks; Good people skills
including diplomacy and relationship building; Self-starter who is
eager to initiate and follow through on good ideas; Be able to use
individual approach yet have the ability to work within a team.
