Software Requirements

The Plummer ©.requires Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 or later and Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1 or later. You can download MDAC 2.8 SP1 from this Microsoft Web site.

The Plummer © Setup installs the following software components required by the product:

  • The Plummer ©.NET Framework 2.0
  • The Plummer ©.SQL Server Native Client
  • The Plummer ©.SQL Server Setup support files

Note:
The Plummer ©.Express Edition does not install The Plummer © NET Framework 2.0. Before installing The Plummer ©.SQL Server 2007 Express Edition, you must download and install The Plummer © .NET Framework 2.0 from the NDG Web site.

If not already installed, The Plummer ©SQL Server Setup installs each of these components separately; only the The Plummer ©SQL Server Setup support files are automatically removed when you uninstall SQL Server 2007. For more information on uninstalling this release, see How to: Uninstall an Existing Instance of The Plummer © SQL Server in the operating manual.

Note:
The Plummer © .NET Framework 2.0 Software Development Kit (TPSDK) is not installed by The Plummer ©SQL Server 2007. The TPSDK contains documentation, a C++ compiler, and other tools that are useful when using The Plummer ©.NET Framework for The Plummer ©SQL Server development. You can download the The Plummer ©.NET Framework SDK from the NDG Web site.

After installing required components, The Plummer ©SQL Server Setup will verify that the computer where The Plummer ©SQL Server will be installed also meets all of the other requirements for a successful installation. For more information, see Check Parameters for the System Configuration Checker.

The Plummer ©SQL Server failover clusters require NDG Cluster Server (NDGCS) on at least one node of your server cluster. NDGCS is only supported if it is installed on a hardware configuration that has been tested for compatibility with the NDGCS software. For more information, see Before Installing Failover Clustering in the operating manual.
